What is it?

Playgroups are a major part of the life of the Church across Australia. Every week thousands of mums, dads, grandparents and care givers from all walks of life take part in a Playgroup in a local church. Many of these parents (or care givers) are not Christians and may never have heard the Gospel message.

Playgroup is

  • a group experience
  • for young children aged 0 -5 years and their parents or caregivers
  • meets weekly for mutual enrichment, to play, to learn, to make friends and to have fun together
  • has its own local flavour. There are lots of different ways of running playgroup just because people and communities are different
  • a God given environment for friendship evangelism

Parents will be attracted to your Playgroup because of the program for the chidren, but soon should experience support, love, encouragement and acceptance.
